“Don’t Worry! Be Happy”!

Years ago, after my parents returned home from an “Old Timers” bus trip to the New England states, my mom told me that the theme song on the trip was “Don’t Worry! Be Happy”. At the time I thought, “That’s silly. Just a bunch of fluff!” But it seemed fitting since the tour guide and driver was my goofy and lovable Uncle Jack.

But since then, I’ve become a fan of the catchy tune because it has also become somewhat of a theme song for our son, David. With his dystonic movements from Dystonia, he is often twisting into uncontrollably distorted position that are very uncomfortable, causing him to yell and be “un-happy”. So my husband found this funny version of the song performed by Bobby Mcferrin and we play it from time to time.
I hope you will enjoy it and that it will lighten and brighten your day!

Thanks for the memories, Dayna! I remember when they took that trip, mainly because I heard so much about how they sang this song over and over. Was that the time they all had kazoo’s to play? Goofy is an understatement for your Uncle Jack! He has been an even more goofy, crazy, and lovable Dad! I’ll bet he and my wildly adorable Aunt Betty were an unstoppable pair!!!

They certainly were an unstoppable and funny pair. Mom with her energy and your dad with his silliness! Yes, it was the same time as the kazoos.
